Important Dates

Primary Election Day – July 19, 2022

  • June 28, 2022 Last Day to Register to Vote
  • July 7 – July 14, 2022 Early Voting (find your nearby voting center)
  • July 12, 2022 Last Day to Request a Mail-in Ballot

General Election Day – November 8, 2022

Early Voting Centers will be open July 7-14 from 7 am to 8 pm.

If you are an eligible voter who missed the registration deadline, same-day registration is available at all in-person voting centers during the early voting period and on Election Day.

Deadlines to Request a Mail-in Ballot

  • For mailed or faxed ballot: July 12, 2022
  • For electronic (internet) ballot: July 15, 2022
  • For in-person ballot: July 19, 2022

How-to request a mail-in ballot:

You must register to vote or be a registered Maryland voter.

A registered voter may request a mail-in ballot ​by submitting a written request and returning it to ​the Board of Elections, if ​it includes:

  • the voter’s name and residence address;
  • the address to which the ballot is to be mailed, if different from the residence address;
  • voter’s signature

Dropbox Locations

You can return your ballot by mail, or you can drop off your completed, voted ballot at a drop box location in Montgomery County. Simply place your completed ballot in the return envelope, sign the oath on the envelope, seal the return envelope and take it to a drop box in the county.
